The MRC88CTL is an 8 source, 8 zone multiroom distribution unit and amplifier. Each zone can be controlled by an in wall keypad, in wall LCD touchscreen, IR remote or a combination of all three all fully programmable by Xantech Dragon Drop PC software.

Composite video is provided for each zone, ideal for the on screen selection of media from servers, security cameras or general video sources. 6 zones have amplification provided and 2 zones are pre-out only. With serial control, intelligent power sensing, IR routing, 8 source selection and all the control and operation simplified into one neat easy to use system, the MRC88CTL is a powerful multiroom system.

8 zones not enough? Two units can be linked together to provide a sixteen zone system.

SOURCE INPUT

8 identical source inputs are provided each having:

* stereo analogue input
* stereo analogue loop through for expansion
* composite video input
* sense input - for use with CSM1 current sense input. The composite video input can be used to sense the status of the source to prevent incorrect power commands being sent.

ZONE OUTPUT 1-6

* speaker output at 2x 35w
* RJ45 keypad terminal, cat5 link to the first keypad in a zone (or MRC44CB1 connection block). Can supply power for up to 4 MRC88 keypads. If you use LCD in-wall touchscreens they require their own power.
* pre-amp out for external or additional amplification
* composite video output
* status connection, +12vDC when the zone is on, 0vDC when off.
* IR out. Any IR routed to that zone can be fed through a dedicated output to operate local equipment. (software setting)

ZONE OUTPUT 7+8

* RJ45 keypad terminal, cat5 link to the first keypad in a zone (or MRC44CB1 connection block). Can supply power for up to 4 MRC88 keypads. If you use LCD in-wall touchscreens they require their own power.
* pre-amp out for external or additional amplification
* composite video output
* status connection, +12vDC when the zone is on, 0vDC when off.
* IR out. Any IR routed to that zone can be fed through a dedicated output to operate local equipment. (software setting)
* control out to switch external amplification on/off/mute. E.G. PA4100x power amplifier.

In addition to these connections there are additional IR outputs that can be common, or for routed IR, depending on how they have been configured in the setup. A main control out that provides a constant +12vDC when the first zone comes on and then 0vDC as the last one turns off. Two serial connections are provided allowing for two way communication with either external equipment such as lighting or ventilation systems, source equipment or control systems.

Eight 3.5mm stereo mini jack audio inputs are provided, one for each zone designed to provide a dedicated audio input from a music server. They are selected in the software and override the AUDIO input of the main source 1. By selecting source 1 on your keypad the audio would come from the zone specific mini jack and the video from the main source 1.

The mass of available connections mean the MRC88CTL is well placed to communicate with not just source equipment but other systems as well. The Dragon Drop software used to configure the unit allows the unit to be programmed for more than just simple source control. Multiple functions can be activated from the press of a key or from the receipt of an IR code and keypad buttons can store second level commands by pressing and holding the button. If touchscreens are used then the operation options are even more extensive as multiple pages can be created and the whole operation system look and feel tailored to suit the customers needs and even the decor of the room they are installed in.
